Hi Mike, been tied up. Thanks for your great comments. You raise one of the most common responses to the use of behavior analysis. I believe Hank replied to you directly. Let me know if you got it. I know they are going to re-post it on the thread. If you are inclined, you might want to read Skinner's original Selection by Consequences article in Science. You can get it through Google Scholar. I would love to talk to you about this and your take on it since it will help us address, as we plan in the future, this common hurdle as to what actually governs and shapes my behavior. Let me know and we can then arrange to talk. As always, thank you for your comments and I am looking forward to further encounters with Rank, Armstrong and the like. Francisco.

Here in New Mexico, two months ago we voted, 70% of us, to make early childhood education a right guaranteed in our state constitution. We are the first state in the nation to make it a universal right.

I believe Hank's response is the one posted by Faris?

So you'll be advocating for a wide-ranging public policy agenda?

I'm more interested in personal behavior, I suppose, rather than trying to change systems. While I might agree with you on more policy questions than I disagree with you on -- I'm a centrist -- I think conservatives and libertarians can engage in prosocial behavior just as much as liberals.

I'm also uncomfortable with the word "engineer". I've never heard anyone talk about engineering behavior and engineering culture before. Sounds a little mechanistic and controlling. rather than being rooted in discovery of prosocial behaviors and voluntary adaption and engagement in prosocial behaviors.

However, I love your focus on parenting, early childhood education, and civic education. Again, the personal roles we can play in our community -- parenting, helping and mentoring children and youth, promoting civic awareness and commitment every chance we get -- these things interest me more than making public policy changes.

Look forward to reading your responses.
